What’s so funny anyway
A few years ago I read about the Women laughing alone with salad and later I stumbled on a research about more and more lonely women who laugh with their tablets instead of salad bowls…in a way we were again reminded of how much we become ego-centered and how little we care and compromise to be with someone else.
Well if I remember well Marilyn Monroe once said “If you can make a woman laugh, you can make her do anything”, so who is to blame about the increase of lonely women? Not the internet obviously, but men’s lack of sense of humour. Did you know that despite that we tend to think of humor as part of our genetic makeup, like blue eyes or big feet, a sense of humor actually is a learned quality which can be developed when we are kids. We are not born with it.
As you can see I am not alone while my husband is doing this photographs and I am laughing for many reasons but what I have realised is that laughter is not only important to me as a human being, it is important for the health of my family and to teach my little son how to laugh. According to Kidshealth a good sense of humour is an essential tool that kids can rely on throughout life because it helps them:
- see things from many perspectives other than the most obvious
- be spontaneous
- grasp unconventional ideas or ways of thinking
- see beyond the surface of things
- enjoy and participate in the playful aspects of life
- not take themselves too seriously
Not only, but I’ve found for myself: laughter breaks any distance (Laughter is the shortest distance between two people, Vicktor Borge);
