Fashion Romantic

White lace blouses are complex garments, but when combined with white lace skirts they can turn into something very simple and holy as a wedding or a first communion dress. Not that my crowd of girls likes to fall into any fashion cliches, but thinking of white I can exactly remember the date when I had it last on me for a day. I recently came to ask myself why don’t I wear white more often? How can I change that and why would I?
There’s several reasons wha I would. One is because I’ve been in love with the Victoirana blouse ever since I started reading Thomas Hardy and Dickens novels and ever since I imagined the controversial female characters wearing exactly that kind of blouses, modest but yet revealing, immaculate and yet daring.
Then of course I asked myself if I am thinking of wearing all white lace why don’t I do exactly the opposite as well. This would make perfect sense because of the controversy we women often have to deal with when it comes to communicating with the harem of women who lives inside each one of us.
See I don’t mind the romantic and humble woman I am from time to time, but I am so much more than that, buying flowers on a chilly morning and cooking breakfast for the family. Some other parts are hidden in that black sheer lace dress too (can I actually hide anything there?). I like to be outspoken and loud as this dress is, I like to be noticed beside acting behind the camera or behind my texts, I like to be playful and girly, and oh, how I like to demand and to be heard. The really big question with these couple of latest posts is: who is the person or what part of us gets to play the biggest role on the stage of our lives? Do you get to choose that person or it chooses you? Are you walking the dog or it’s walking you?
My editor asked me a few days ago to think of something I would like to celebrate and be grateful for this year. I am already thinking of applauding and celebrating the chameleon skills of every woman that I know and their ability to transform and survive in a man’s world. And I don’t mean that in a gender sense.
Without further ado, here’s what came out from our second shooting for Style Diaries.
Special thanks to Andaleeb Lilley and everyone else involved (even to the guy who sold me that Italian roast coffee on Mittelstrasse in Seefeld).
