Beyond the jeans
If you are reading this blog then I am pretty sure you’ve come prepared. This means it is no news to you that denim and the 70s are having a major make-over this season. Sure you know what the It-pieces are, but do you know how to build up your look and do these mayst-haves fit properly in your whole closet concept? I have to tell you in the sea of colours, prints and forms it’s not easy to mix and match but I am sure of one thing this season. No matter how many pairs of jeans I have in my wardrobe, I am going to be investing in one more denim piece. Don’t forget fashion is about having fun and this season I am going to have fun with the denim culottes. Here are my best inspirations, easy and fun to combine for almost any occasion:
This is one of the best looks for me to wear. I love the length of the culottes and the top almost as much as I am in love with the shoes. Plus I have a thing about this year’s Dress Camp by Toshikazu Iwaya.
The thing with denim culottes is that they are quite versatile and you can pair them with a tee for a look that’s fuss free and style them up with a pair of clogs and a dots scarf or plain and simple of you can wear a nice button up shirt with it for something a bit more posh and chic.
As I said denim is going to last which is no news considering its 200 years of history. It has gone through so many remakes that I suggest you read the basics and get even more ideas on the NUICONS Mag, coming out in April. In the meantime the look above is TIBI and I love it as something to look forward this Autumn – layers, crispy white shirt, knee-high boots….all classics we can’t save on. Make sure you plan well and choose the right pieces that will take you not just through one season.
